අලුත්ගම නගරයේ ඇති වූ නොසන්සුන්කාරී තත්ත්වය හේතුවෙන් නැවත දැනුම් දෙනතුරු අලුත්ගම සහ බේරුවල පොලිස් බල ප්‍රදේශවලට ඊයේ (15) රාත්‍රී 7.30ට පමණ පොලිස් ඇඳිරි නීතිය පැනවූ බව පොලිස් මාධ්‍ය ප්‍රකාශක ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ පොලිස් අධිකාරී අජිත් රෝහණ මහතා ඊයේ (15) රාත්‍රියේ “ලක්බිම”ට පැවැසීය.
එම ප්‍රදේශයේ දෙපාර්ශ්වයක් අතර ඇති වූ ගැටුම හේතුවෙන් කඩසාප්පු රැසකට ගිනිතබා ඇති අතර පහරදීම්වලින් සැලකිය යුතු පිරිසක් සුළු තුවාල ලබා ඇති බව අපගේ ප්‍රාදේශීය වාර්තාකරුවෝ සඳහන් කරති.
මෙම ගැටුමට හේතුවූයේ පොසොන් පොහොය දින ධර්ම දේශනයකට වැඩම කරමින් සිටි කුරුඳුවත්ත විද්‍යාරාමාධිකාරී අයගම සමිත හිමියන්ට තිදෙනකු කළ පහරදීමකි. මෙම සිද්ධියේදී පොලීසිය නිසි ලෙස ක්‍රියාත්මක නොවූ බවට ප්‍රදේශවාසීන් චෝදනා කළ අතර සැකකරුවන් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන අධිකරණයට ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇතැයි ප්‍රදේශයේ උසස් පොලිස් නිලධාරියෙක් සඳහන් කළේය. මෙම සිද්ධියත් සමග අලුත්ගම නගරයේ ඇති වූ ගැටුම්කාරී තත්ත්වය පාලනය කිරීම සඳහා කොළඹින්, කළුතරින්, ඇල්පිටියෙන්, ගාල්ලෙන් සහ තවත් ප්‍රදේශ රැසකින් පොලිස් බලඇණි කැඳවා ප්‍රදේශයේ ආරක්ෂාව තර කිරීමට පියවර ගෙන තිබිණ.
මෙම පහරදීමෙන් තුවාල ලැබූ සමිත හිමියන් රෝහලෙන් ප්‍රතිකාර ලබා ඊයේ (15) පිටව ගිය අතර උන්වහන්සේ පිළිගැනීම සඳහා බොදු බල සේනා සංවිධානයේ ලේකම් ගලගොඩ අත්තේ ඥානසාර හිමියන් ඇතුළු ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේලා සියගණනක් ද ගිහියෝ දහස් ගණනක්ද එම අවස්ථාවට සම්බන්ධ වී සිටියහ. මෙම පිරිස රැස්වීමක්ද පවත්වා පෙළ පාළියෙන් සමිති හිමියන් පන්සලට වැඩමවීමට සූදානම් වුවත් උසස් පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් මැදිහත්ව ගැටුමක් ඇතිවීමට ඉඩ ඇති බැවින් වාහනවලින් ගමන් කරන ලෙස උන්වහන්සේගෙන් ඉල්ලා තිබේ. ඒ අනුව තුන්දහසකට අධික පිරිස වාහනවලින් ගමන් කිරීමට පටන් ගත් අතර වාහන පෙළපාළියට අතර මගදී කිසියම් පිරිසක් ගල්මුල්වලින් පහරදීමට පටන් ගෙන තිබේ. ඉන් අනතුරුව දෙපාර්ශ්වය අතර ගැටුම් හටගෙන ඇති අතර කඩසාප්පු රැසකට ගිනිතබා ඇත්තේ ඉන් පසුවය.
මෙම තත්ත්වය ඊයේ රාත්‍රිය වන විටත් පැවැති අතර තත්ත්වය පාලනය කිරීමට පොලිස් විශේෂ කාර්ය බළකාය ක්ෂණික විහිදුම් බළකාය ඇතුළු ආරක්ෂක අංශ කිහිපයක් යොදවා තිබුණි. නියෝජ්‍ය පොලිස්පතිවරු සහ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ පොලිස් අධිකාරිවරු එහි ගොස් තත්ත්වය පාලනය කිරීම සඳහා අවශ්‍ය පියවර ගනිමින් සිටියහ. පොලිස්පති එන්.කේ.ඉලංගකෝන් මහතා ඊයේ රාත්‍රියේ එම ප්‍රදේශයට යාමට නියමිතව සිටි බව පොලිස් ආරංචි මාර්ග අනාවරණය කළේය.
කඩු, කිනිසි, පොලු මුගුරු අතින් ගත් පිරිස් ඊයේ රාත්‍රියේත් එම ප්‍රදේශවල සැරිසරනු දක්නට ලැබූ බව අප ප්‍රාදේශීය වාර්තාකරුවෝ සඳහන් කළහ.

Clashes broke out as Buddhists marched into Muslim populated areasThe Sri Lankan authorities have imposed a curfew on two southern towns to quell clashes between a hardline Buddhist group and Muslims.
The latest violence began after a Buddhist rally in Aluthgama.
Several people are reported to have been injured, shops burned and stones thrown at Buddhist marchers there.
The curfew was later extended to include mainly Muslim Beruwala. Muslims make up around 10% of Sri Lanka's predominantly Buddhist population.
Eyewitness accounts tell of Muslims being pulled off local buses and beaten. There are also reports of looting.
The rally by the Buddhist BBS took place in AluthgamaThe clashes are said to have begun after the rally held by the BBS, the Bodu Bala Sena, or Buddhist Brigade.
The gathering came three days after a smaller clash between Muslim youths and a Buddhist monk's driver.
'Act in restraint'After its rally, the BBS marched into Muslim areas chanting anti-Muslim slogans, reports say, and the police used tear gas to quell the violence. Unconfirmed reports say security forces also used gunfire.
Witnesses say Muslim homes and a mosque were stoned.
The situation is confusing and there is an air of danger as violence has spread to several areas, a BBC reporter in Aluthgama says.
Some pro-Buddhist organisations oppose what they see as undue minority influence on governmentSri Lankan media appear to have decided not to report the violence, with sources saying outlets have received "orders from above".
President Mahinda Rajapaksa has announced an investigation.
"The government will not allow anyone to take the law into their own hands. I urge all parties concerned to act in restraint," he tweeted.
Correspondents say tension has recently been high between the two sides, with Muslims calling on the government to protect them from Buddhist-inspired hate attacks, and Buddhist accusing minorities of enjoying too much influence.

Sri Lankan police have fired tear gas and enforced a curfew in two coastal towns popular with tourists in an attempt to end clashes between Muslims and Buddhists that threatens to spark wider religious violence. The police said on Sunday they were widening a curfew in Alutgama, to the neighbouring town Beruwala, a predominantly Muslim area, after violence threatened to take hold in the region. According to the AFP news agency, the two groups attacked each other with stones in fighting over the weekend - the latest in a series of religious clashes to hit the island nation. A police spokesman said trouble began when a group led by Buddhist monks tried to march in an area with a sizeable population of Muslims, who are a minority in the mainly Buddhist country. "The curfew was declared to bring the situation under control," he said. "The curfew was extended to a neighbouring area to prevent an escalation of clashes." "Several Muslim-owned shops have been burned and homes attacked," a resident in Beruwala told AFP. "Some Buddhists are deliberately targeting Muslims. But unfortunately police have not been able to protect the minorities," Hilmy Ahmed, spokesperson of Muslim Council of Sri Lanka, told Al Jazeera. "A petty feud between two individuals has been allowed to take a religious tone. The extremist Buddhists led by Bodu Bala Sena attacked Muslims and are still in the area despite curfew." There were no reports of arrests but dozens of people were said to have been injured. President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is in Bolivia attending the G77 summit, has called for restrain with the promise that the government will not allow anyone "to take the law into their own hands". Chain of violence The latest unrest came weeks after Muslim legislators asked Rajapaksa to protect their minority community from "Buddhist extremist elements" blamed for a recent spate of hate attacks. Muslims make up about 10 percent of Sri Lanka's 20-million population. Nationalist Buddhist groups, including the Bodu Bala Sena, accuse religious minorities of having undue political and economic influence on the island. Videos posted on YouTube have shown mobs led by Buddhist monks throwing stones and smashing a Christian church in southern Sri Lanka in January, and attacking mosques while police looked on. Senior Buddhist monks have also been caught on video threatening violence against their moderate colleagues who advocate tolerance.
